Third day today, and 2 more to get through before I can go home.
On the day I was coming here, a typhoon was approaching. Wind, rain, heavy rain, thunder... the works. The bus ride was a little more than scary. It seemed to have come and gone while I was still at work. The arrival was a little earlier than forecasted so work was not cancelled yesterday, in fact the weather was almost perfect yesterday (marred only by the 29-degree-high,) today is a beautiful day and slightly cooler so I'll call it perfect for now.
Haven't been up to much while I've been here really.
Tuesday's a 4-lesson day, so the day is pretty much taken up by getting up early, packing, 2-hour bus ride, prep work, teaching, shopping at the convenience store, check-in at the hotel, talk to paul, sleep.
Yesterday I walked to the onsen, along the way I saw a hairdresser that seemed decent but not ridiculously expensive-looking and popped in for a hair cut. They took about 10-12cm off and thinned it out a bit. It was so refreshing! A little sad that so much hair is now gone though...
Anyway, I taxied back to the hotel, dropped my stuff off and walked out to the classroom.
After work, I talked to Paul on the phone for a while, then talked to Marci, then Paul again. Then I got on with measuring out and cutting up the rest of the paper bands for my next basket. Then Frank called and said he'll come over, but he never showed up. Apparently he was held up at the Indian restaurant for 3 hours because there were no customers and the owner was really lonely and bored so he talked and talked when his only customer walked in. Poor guy, I don't know what he was thinking when he decided to open an restaurant here.
Woke up really early today and did some light stretches then came down for breakfast. I don't think I'll ever have breakfast at the hotel restaurant again.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that I wrote up my lesson plans with my left hand yesterday, and I used my left hand to hold the chopsticks while I was eating breakfast!
